McCarthy Racing was founded by Justin McCarthy at the end of the 2020 race season. The team was founded in honor of his late father Pat McCarthy. McCarthy Racing is operated as an owner/driver team with Justin being the only member to run under the team name. While Justin is the sole member of the team, he is partnered with Camp Chaos, the 4 Cycle Team of LSR Motorsports. Before the creation of McCarthy Racing, Justin raced under the Camp Chaos name for 4 years and has been affiliated with the team all the way back in 2008. Together, both teams create a welcoming environment for veteran and novice drivers alike. Justin and LSR Motorsports work together to provide both driver coaching, tuning, and mechanics to drivers across the Midwest. Currently, Justin operates McCarthy Racing at the shop of LSR Motorsports. As he progresses forward into managing his own team, Justin's goal is to one day own a shop of his own and pit next to LSR Motorsports at events. 2021 will be the start of Justin racing under his own team name as he looks to put a team together to run the Sim Craft 24 Hours at NOLA Motorsports Park in November.

Justin McCarthy is 21 years old and has a strong passion for motorsports. His dad introduced him to racing at the age of 2 and he never looked back. At 5 years old he began racing dirt bikes around his back yard. After becoming too confident on a dirt back, his dad introduced Justin to go-karts at the age of 6. Competing at his local track, Justin competed for four seasons in karts and one season in Super Cup Cars. At the age of 10, he decided to take a break from racking to focus on school. After a 7 year retirement, Justin began racing again at an indoor karting league in the Fall of 2016. The following Spring, Justin returned to racing full time. Later that same year, Justin began racing for LSR Motorsports after the sudden passing of his father. For 3 seasons, he traveled and competed for the team both locally and on a national level. Due to Covid, Justin took a break from driving for the 2020 season. Instead he took the time to travel with the team to large events and work as a driver coach and mechanic. Justin looks forward to competing in the 2021 season under his own team name and has plans to put together a young team of drivers to race the SimCraft 24 hours in November.
